More Than Just a Meal

A nutritious meal is served Monday through Friday to seniors aged 60 or older who are homebound due to an illness or physical disability and have no one to prepare a meal for them. Frozen meals are available for those who need weekend meals or live outside the local routing areas. The meals are approved by a registered dietician and meet 1/3 of the recommended daily dietary allowance.

Meals on Wheels is much more than just a meal. It provides a personal daily contact to the frail and elderly and helps prevent premature institutionalization. Many seniors who are homebound and alone much of the time rely on their daily driver contact for a sense of security knowing that someone will come, that someone cares.

The cost to prepare and deliver a meal is $8.62. Any contribution donated is appreciated and accepted. Many clients are able to pay more and are encouraged to do so. All contributions are confidential and no qualified customer is refused services based on their ability or inability to contribute.
