Emergencies happen when you least expect them. When they do, our emergency room is here for you, ready to help 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
From illnesses in the middle of the night that need emergency care to broken bones and cuts, Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta’s Emergency Department (ED) is waiting to help you.
Our goal is to have all patients seen quickly. Evaluation in the emergency department usually takes up to three hours (during peak times you may be with us longer). After you’ve been triaged, or evaluated, diagnostic tests like CT scans may be needed. If that’s the case, we may need more time to process the tests and get the results back to the emergency doctors.
You will check-in with an admitting nurse and on average can expect to see a doctor in less than 20 minutes. An emergency room doctor will assess your situation and determine the next appropriate level of care.
Our Level III Trauma Center provides board-certified doctors, skilled surgeons, sub-specialists, and all the necessary support services and equipment to care for all medical conditions including seriously injured trauma patients on a 24-hour basis. This includes monitoring all phases of care from pre-hospital transport to rehabilitation. If you require a Level II Trauma Center, an air ambulance can take you to Mercy Medical Center Redding.
