Dignity Health North State Hospitals Light Up Pink in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

REDDING, Calif. (October 9, 2024) — In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dignity Health North State hospitals are lighting up their facilities pink to raise awareness and support for those impacted by breast cancer. The month-long initiative is a visible reminder of the importance of early detection, research, and continued support for breast cancer patients and survivors.

Mercy Medical Center Redding, Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital will be illuminated with vibrant pink lighting, symbolizing the ongoing fight against breast cancer and as a reminder to prioritize regular mammograms and health screenings.

According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer remains the second most common cancer among women in the United States. However, with advancements in early detection and treatment, the survival rate continues to improve. Dignity Health remains committed to providing comprehensive cancer care services to treat the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

As part of Dignity Health’s expanding cancer care services, the new Sierra Pacific Regional Cancer Center in Redding set to open in 2026, will provide treatment options for breast cancer and other cancers.
