Compassionate Care

Two levels of intensive care to meet our patient’s unique needs.

Intensive Care

At Mercy Medical Center Redding, all intensive care areas are staffed by nurses that are specially trained in the care of critically ill or injured patients. Regardless of the hour, our nurses will keep you and your loved ones informed of the patient's condition, and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Mercy Medical Center Redding offers two levels of intensive care to meet our patient's unique needs. To speak to a nurse about a loved one in our care, call our toll free lines: (800) 232-3132 (within the 530 area code) or (800) 521-6377 (outside the 530 area code), 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Shock-Trauma Intensive Care

Our Shock-Trauma Intensive Care Unit offers highly specialized care to patients of all ages. It focuses on life-threatening medical and trauma conditions. Cardiovascular surgery patients also recover in the Shock-Trauma Intensive Care Unit. To learn more, call (530) 225-7369.

Medical-Surgical Intensive Care

The Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit provides care to adolescents and adults who have significant medical or surgical conditions. To learn more, call (530) 225-7355.

Visiting Hours

At Mercy Medical Center Redding, we believe in family-centered care, and we encourage loved ones to visit their family in the hospital.

In our Shock-Trauma Intensive Care and Medical-Surgical Intensive Care units, we ask that you please limit visits to immediate family members or significant others. Two people may visit at a time, and visitors must be at least 16 years of age (unless previously approved by the unit's team leader). Additionally, to allow for health care professionals to become acquainted with their patients during change of shift, we ask that you do not visit between 6 and 8 a.m., and 6 and 8 p.m.

Flowers

In order to provide an optimum healing environment, flowers and plants are not allowed in our intensive care units.
