At the Family Birth Center at Mercy Medical Center Redding, you’ll find progressive technology and services to help make sure your delivery and the arrival of your baby is a safe and secure experience.

Our center specializes in great starts. We help mothers and babies by providing comprehensive prenatal care including:

Comfortable And Private

Comfortable, private maternity suites equipped with the latest medical equipment permit labor, delivery, and recovery to take place in the same room, with your own doctor or midwife in attendance, and family members or friends standing close by for support and encouragement.

At the Family Birth Center, family is everything. As Redding's only childbirth facility, we are approved by California Children Services (CCS) in Pediatric and Neonatal care.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

If your baby comes into the world early or has serious health issues of any kind, our Neonatal Intensive Care team is standing by. Our NICU cares for little ones born as early as 24-weeks, and has a successful record caring for infants with a wide variety of medical conditions.

Neonatologists and neonatal nurses, dietitians, respiratory therapists, social workers, and lab techs attend to babies' needs round the clock to help them become healthy and grow. Babies and their families benefit from a warm, secure environment, including a family room where parents can relax and remain close to their newborn.
