Dignity Health St. Elizabeth Community Hospital Named One of the Cleanest Hospitals in the Nation

RED BLUFF, Calif. (September 11, 2024) – St. Elizabeth Community Hospital is proud to announce that it has been recognized as one of the cleanest hospitals in the nation, receiving a prestigious 5-star rating for cleanliness from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This recognition is based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) surveys, which reflect patients' experiences during their recent inpatient stays.

St. Elizabeth Community Hospital was awarded an overall 4-star rating from CMS, further demonstrating its excellence across a range of patient care metrics. The surveys, conducted between October 2022 and September 2023, included key questions about various aspects of hospital care, such as communication with doctors and nurses, responsiveness of hospital staff, and the cleanliness and quietness of the hospital environment.

"We are deeply grateful to our community for sharing their experiences with us. Your feedback is invaluable and has helped us achieve this remarkable 5-star rating for cleanliness,” said Rodger Page, President, St. Elizabeth Community Hospital. “This recognition reflects not just the hard work of our dedicated staff, but also the trust and confidence that our patients place in us. We will continue to strive for excellence in every aspect of care, knowing that our community's voice is at the heart of everything we do."

This recognition comes at a fitting time as we celebrate Environmental Services (EVS) Week, a moment to honor the dedicated professionals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our hospital remains a clean and safe space for patients, visitors and staff. A clean hospital environment is essential in helping to prevent the spread of infection and reducing the risk of infection for our patients.

“We are incredibly proud to see our efforts recognized with a 5-star rating for cleanliness,” said Marcus Zachary, Manager of the Environmental Services (EVS) team at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital. “Our team is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for every patient. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire EVS staff, and we are honored to contribute to the overall quality of care at our hospital.”
