In my own wordsPhilosophy of Care:
Delivering the best quality, patient-centered experience requires fostering a trusting, respectful and open dialogue so that an individual’s concerns, needs, and goals are always addressed. A patient must always feel empowered through education to contribute to their care decisions, which is critical to leveraging the intersection between public health and clinical medicine towards preventative care.
Why Did You Become a Medical Provider?
Prior to working as a Physician Assistant/Associate, I was a total molecular biology and data geek. This led me to pursue a graduate degree in Public Health and Epidemiology. I had an incredibly fulfilling experience working locally and internationally under the scope of infectious disease and human rights, however, I often felt it lacked the raw, interpersonal human connections that I cherished so much during my field work. This instilled my desire to pursue clinical medicine and develop meaningful, long-term relationships with patients.
I chose to specialize and complete a Fellowship in Urology because of the large array of tools and procedures we have at our disposal to improve the quality of life of our patients, including cross-cutting pillars of physical, nutritional, emotional and social well-being. I am looking forward to growing with the Santa Cruz community and improving the health of our neighbors.
Personal Interests and Hobbies:
In my free time you can count on seeing me outside. Distance running, hiking/camping, snowboarding, live music and international travel are just a few of the things that keep me recharged and energized. My other hobbies include woodworking, photography and trying anything new!
