Housing with Dignity

On Oct. 6 Capital Public Radio aired an hour-long multimedia documentary project "The View from Here: Place and Privilege," which explored the history, politics and economics of housing affordability in Sacramento.

As part of this project, Kaiser Health News Reporter Pauline Bartolone focused on Housing with Dignity, a collaborative partnership between Dignity Health and Lutheran Social Services that places homeless people in transitional apartment units with extensive support services. The project launched in 2014 with the goal of empowering homeless individuals to achieve stability, move into permanent housing and improve their health and quality of life.

Pauline interviewed Ashley Brand, director, community health and outreach, about Dignity Health’s commitment to help the homeless, why Dignity Health is a partner in Housing with Dignity, and how the program makes a difference.
