ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) class is designed for healthcare providers who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies in adult patients. Pre-course preparation, didactic instruction, and active participation in skills stations and simulated cases will be used to enhance the recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS). We offer both Provider and Renewal courses.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of the program the learner will be able to:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in providing BLS care, including prioritizing chest compressions and integrating use of an AED
  • Recognize and manage respiratory arrest
  • Recognize and manage cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or transfer of care, including post–cardiac arrest care
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia

GENERAL INFORMATION
