Cardiac S.T.A.B.L.E.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Cardiac STABLE is designed for any healthcare provider who is responsible for recognizing and stabilizing neonates with severe CHD. This class will be valuable to nurses, advanced practice nurses, respiratory therapists, physician assistants, and physicians who require the knowledge to recognize the subtle and non-subtle cardiac changes during initial and ongoing assessments. ** This class is an online class via Zoom.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course the participant will be able to:
- Recognize abnormal assessment findings that are common in CHD.
- Describe differential diagnoses that are similar to CHD.
- Compare stabilization techniques when dealing with ductal vs. non-ductal dependent lesions.
- Determine the underlying concepts of ductal dependent left heart obstructive lesions and their lethal consequences.
- Distinguish the modifications to the STABLE learner course to reduce morbidity and mortality in those neonates with CHD.
PRE-COURSE WORK
The Cardiac S.T.A.B.L.E. textbook is recommended reading prior to class and can be borrowed from the Collaborative Learning Center.
CE & CME INFORMATION
CE Certificates will be issued after 100% attendance. Dignity Health is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, as a provider of Nursing Education, Provider ##17758, for 5 contact hours.
