PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) class is designed for healthcare providers to improve outcomes for pediatric patients with respiratory, cardiopulmonary or shock emergencies, and cardiac arrest by provider training and practice scenario. Since part of this class is based on scenario work, you will rotate through stations for CPR/AED, Cardiac, Respiratory, and Shock. We offer both Provider and Renewal courses.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of the program the learner will be able to:

  • Identify high-quality Child CPR AED and Infant CPR
  • Identify early interventions for the treatment of shock
  • Identify differentiation between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock
  • Recognition of patients who do and do not require immediate intervention
  • Recognition of cardiopulmonary arrest early and application of CPR within 10 seconds
  • Apply team dynamics
