2024 California Academy of Family Physicians Educator of the Year Award: Congratulations Toussaint Mears-Clarke, MD (Faculty Physician, OB Fellowship Director) on being awarded Educator of the Year at the 2024 CAFP POP Conference! This award recognizes educational excellence in the field of family medicine. Criteria for the award include advances in education in the field of family medicine; excellence in family medicine teaching in medical schools, residency programs, or postgraduate CME.
2024 Special Designation for LGBTQ+ Expansive Primary Care: Ronald Chambers, MD (Program Director) completed an intensive year-long training and development process to obtain Special Designation for Comprehensive Primary Care for LGBTQ+ from CommonSpirit Health. By extension this designation applies to our clinic Mercy Family Health Center under Methodist Hospital. This will allow for our providers to further collaborate with community agencies and provide exceptional expansive care to our patient population .
2024 AAFP Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education: Chief Resident Andrew Antes, MD was selected as a 2024 American Academy of Family Physicians Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Antes was selected due to their outstanding leadership, civic involvement, and exemplary patient care during residency training and was one of only ten family medicine residents in the nation selected. Congratulations to Dr. Antes, who joins 2 graduates from our program who have also recently received this prestigious award: Kiersten Kelly, MD (2023) and Ashley Rubin, DO, MS (2021).
