Visiting Loved Ones Can Contribute to Improved Health

Our hospital is committed to helping patients get better as fast as possible. That's why we encourage family and friends to visit as often as possible. It really does help.

For Visitors

We understand that you want to be able to visit your loved ones when it's convenient for you. The hospital is open to visitors between 8 am and 8 pm, seven days a week. For privacy reasons, the Intensive Care Unit does close during change of shift changes. Please speak with your nurse about any special needs you may have.

Visitor Management System

Dignity Health – Community Hospital of San Bernardino has a new Visitor Management System in an effort to improve campus security and ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.

Require that each visitor produce a government-issued identification card (e.g., driver license, Passport, etc.). The personal I.D. will be swiped through an electronic system that captures a picture and identification information.

Print the information on a self-expiring identification badge that includes the location in the hospital that the visitor intends to go.

Maintain a permanent, temporary, and denied list of visitors and visitor history.

Allow the hospital to know who is in the facility at all times. If the visitor does not have identification, a picture will be taken and the name provided by the visitor will be placed on a self-expiring identification badge. In the event a visitor refuses to identify themselves, Community Hospital will refuse visitation.

Health & Safety

Be Well. Please do not visit the hospital if you have any flu symptoms, including a fever over 100 degrees, cough, sore throat, runny nose, rash or diarrhea, or if you have recently been exposed to someone with symptoms.

Wash Your Hands. Be sure to wash or sanitize your hands before and after visiting your loved one. Proper hand hygiene is the best way to reduce the spread of germs.

No Smoking Campus. We are committed to caring for the health and safety of our patients, visitors, and staff. Because of this pledge, smoking and using any tobacco products is prohibited in all areas of the Community Hospital of San Bernardino’s campus, including exterior walkways and parking areas. People who smoke will need to refrain from smoking or leave the campus to smoke. If you are a patient who smokes, nicotine replacement therapy is available. Please notify your doctor or nurse.
