Alex Kim, MD
Dr Alex Kim grew up in Japan and attended Nagasaki University School of Medicine. After practicing as a plastic surgeon in Japan, he relocated to the U.S. in 1986. Dr Alex Kim had General Surgery training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, CA, and Plastic Surgery fellowship at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. In 1997, Dr Kim opened his private practice in Beverly Hills.
Dr Kim has a strong interests in facial and breast plastic surgery for both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, as well as body contouring surgery for men and women. In recent years, Dr Kim has been helping transgender patients for their transition, including facial, breast and body contouring procedures.
Dr Kim is fluent in Japanese and English and has working knowledge in Korean. Since 2018, Dr Kim started seeing patients at Los Angeles Center for Women’s Health in Downtown Los Angeles. Here, Dr. Kim collaborates with breast surgeons and gynecologists to provide comprehensive care.
Dr Kim is board-certified in Plastic Surgery, and is an active member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS), and American College of Surgeons (FACS).
Dr Kim has been volunteering his services to many developing countries including Nigeria, Vietnam, Mexico, Peru, and Ethiopia, providing free plastic surgical care to those who have no access to such reconstructive procedures. He has worked with many organizations including Project Vietnam, Open Heart Foundation, and Ethiopia HealthAid.
