Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Community Hospital of San Bernardino provides family-centered care that focuses on the family as well as the new baby. Parents can visit their baby during the day or night and are urged to participate in many aspects of their baby's care. Mothers are encouraged to breastfeed when possible, and are supported by a team of lactation educators. Parents of premature babies can also hold their baby skin-to-skin to promote bonding and growth.

In the NICU, parents are a vital part of the health care team. At Community Hospital of San Bernardino, we focus on meeting the developmental needs of the baby, as well as the medical needs.
