Surgical Options
The da Vinci Surgical System® is a sophisticated robotic platform designed to expand your surgeon’s capabilities and offer a minimally invasive option for major surgery.
Many Major Surgeries can be Performed Robotically
The da Vinci Surgical System® is a sophisticated robotic platform used to treat complex conditions ranging from cancer to uterine prolapse to nerve-sparing prostatectomies. The majority of women’s gynecological surgeries can be performed using da Vinci, as can most urological, many gastroenterology and general surgeries, and some cardiac procedures.
- General Surgery - Our experienced surgeons specialize in highly complex surgeries in bariatric surgery and oncology. Patients are able to obtain robotic-assisted gastric bypass surgery and gastric sleeve. For patients with colon cancer, our surgeons are performing robotic-assisted colon removal through a few incisions safely and effectively.
- Gynecology - Our GYN surgeons perform minimally invasive hysterectomy, which allows less pain and blood loss than traditional surgery.
- Urologic Surgery - Our fellowship trained urologic surgeons are performing the most complex robotic surgeries such as removal of bladder, kidney sparing removal of kidney tumor, removal of prostate for cancer. For massively enlarged prostates, as well as reconstructive surgeries, they may be able to use robotic sacrocolpopexy or pyeloplasty.
Robot-assisted Surgery is Usually Covered by Insurance
This surgery is categorized as robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery, so any insurance that covers minimally invasive surgery generally covers da Vinci surgery.
