Rehabilitation
At St. Bernardine Medical Center, our goal is to assess your unique condition so we can then discover whether or not you need surgery. Sometimes surgery isn't the only option to return you to activity. Physical therapy and occupational therapy provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a wide variety of patients with orthopedic, neurological, muscular/skeletal impairments, cardiopulmonary and complex medical conditions.
Physical therapy
We improve the way you move through physical therapy. Our program focuses on the whole self and restoring your physical strength, range of motion, coordination/balance and endurance to achieve the highest functional outcome and level of independence.

- Body mechanics

- Incontinence and pelvic pain for women and men
- Industrial rehabilitation

- Patient and family education and counseling

Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy helps you to improve the way you perform every day activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, writing, cooking and other tasks that may be challenging as one ages or recovers from injury.
Treatment plans may include:
- Activities of daily living
- Adaptive equipment
- Coordination activities
- Edema management
- Joint protection
- Patient/family education
- Sensory stimulation or desensitization
- Splinting
- Therapeutic Exercise

Rehabilitation Center Community Membership Program
After physical therapy sessions are complete, patients have the option to continue using our physical therapy gym equipment for a nominal donation every three months of $62.50 to our hospital foundation.
Rehabilitation Center Location
The Rehabilitation center is located on the St. Bernardine Medical Center campus adjacent to the parking structure in the Outpatient Center.
