Hundreds of weight loss surgeries are performed at St. Bernardine Medical Center every year.  At St. Bernardine, we have also taken extra steps to meet the exacting standards of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery to be recognized as a MBSAQIP Accredited – Comprehensive Center. That’s an acknowledgement of excellence that few hospitals achieve. Many of the health plans have put us at the top of their centers of excellence lists as well.

Dedicated Surgical Weight Loss Unit with Private Rooms

Surgical Weight Loss patients receive post-operative care in private rooms in a dedicated unit so that staff can concentrate on the unique needs of patients and better provide the specialized care they need.  

The unit is equipped with beds designed to accommodate bariatric patients and nurses who are specially trained to care for bariatric patients are always close at hand.  

Some patients feel further comforted knowing that the other patients on the unit are undergoing the same kind of procedure.

Acute-Care Hospital, Home of the Inland Empire Heart and Vascular Institute 

Having your surgery at St. Bernardine provides an extra level of assurance because as an acute-care hospital, medical specialists from many areas are readily accessible.  For example, should the need for a heart specialist or surgeon arise, St. Bernardine Medical Center is home to the Inland Empire Heart and Vascular Institute, the largest heart program in the Inland Empire and one of the 10 largest programs in California.
