Diabetes Education
Ongoing Diabetes Education Program
Certified diabetes educators work individually with patients to help them maintain good health and stay within a normal glycemic index. Physicians send their patients to St. Mary’s CDE diabetes educators to ensure that individual patients learn how to manage their chronic disease. We discuss and define diabetes, blood glucose monitoring, insulin and other medication, nutritional management and problem solving.
Our Diabetes Self-Management Education class is taught by Certified Diabetic Educators and recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Individual sessions and group sessions are available in English and Spanish, and an interpreter for Cambodian language is available by request.
