Our Family Birth Center rooms are equipped with the latest technology needed to accommodate any birth and, should the need arise, cesarean birth suites are also available.
In the event of a premature birth or seriously ill baby, Dignity Health offers two Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Mercy San Juan Medical Center and Methodist Hospital of Sacramento. If you had your baby at one of our other hospitals, your infant may be transferred to one of these two acclaimed NICUs where specially-trained doctors and nurses use the latest equipment to care for every need of the tiniest of newborns.
A doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support to a mother before, during, and immediately after giving birth. Research shows that women who use doulas have reduced labor times, fewer medical interventions, greater breastfeeding success, and express greater satisfaction with her birth experience.

To assist and support clients by decreasing risk factors associated with diabetes during pregnancy, Dignity Health offers comprehensive care in our Outpatient Perinatal Diabetes Clinic in partnership with Valley Children’s Medical Group. The program is designed to provide expectant mothers with practical information for improved diabetes management through specialized meal planning, physical activity, and incorporating best practices from the program in daily life.

Breast milk provides an excellent source of nutrition for your baby and has many health benefits for both mother and baby. For new moms, lactation consultants are available to answer any questions you have about breastfeeding. And for new mothers that aren’t able to produce enough breast milk for their baby, Dignity Health proudly offers donor breast milk at Woodland Memorial Hospital, and for NICU patients at Mercy San Juan Medical Center.
